Common Unity

Common-Unity Social Enterprise is a Health and Social Care Organisation specialising in delivering a pro-active approach to service co-ordination and development. The Organisation was established in 2009 by Community Activist who were born, lived and educated in the inner city parts of the West Midlands.
Common-Unity delivers their activities in the urban areas of the West Midlands. Our activities mainly takes place in the heart of the community which means we get up close and personal with the communities that we work with.

Common-Unity lends its knowledge and specialism to other organisations to achieve better community engagement and access to health and social care. Common-Unity has been commissioned by various organisations such as the Local Authority, NHS Primary Care Trust and Third Sector organisations to support them in research and consultation with specific communities.

Purpose of Intent

Common-Unity offers a range of holistic services that look to promote mental wellbeing to disadvantaged communities.

Common-Unity’s Aims and Objectives

To support and work with health and social care agencies and others to improve the health and well-being of the community;

To provide the community with access to culturally specific services so they have equal access to medical, social and community services.

To build partnerships by working collaboratively with the voluntary, statutory and private sector in order to address the issues face by disadvantaged individuals and communities

To provide professional, confidential and accessible engagement service to the community so that individuals and families can function fully, respond to the challenges of life, have a sense of well being and contribute positively to the community in which they live;

To provide professional, confidential and accessible well being services to the community so that individuals and families can develop strategies and techniques to respond positively to the challenges.

To promote and provide opportunities for the education and training of the staff working in the community and to raise the standard of service delivery for the benefit of the community;

To advance the education of the public in the part that health and well being play in meeting the needs of disadvantaged individuals, families and groups in the community;

To develop and maintain health and well being programmes within the community from which outreach services can be provided; and

To engage with people at a grass roots level whilst acknowledging, respecting the beliefs and values of individuals and communities
