Welcome to Lozells Methodist Community Centre. We hope you find what you are looking for here and do come and visit the Centre so that we can show you our amazing place!
Lozells Methodist Church was built in the late 19th Century and has been open to the Community ever since! But by the beginning of the 21st Century the building had become very tired and not at all inviting. With a lot of help the premises have been redeveloped and Lozells Methodist Community Centre opened its doors in February 2011.
We welcome people from the local community, who come from different ethnic backgrounds and have different religions and we welcome people from further away to come and enjoy our facilities. This is some of what we can offer –
A Reception staffed Monday – Friday 10am – 4pm
A Resource Room with computers and free internet access
A ‘Chill Zone’ next to the kitchen – make yourself a cuppa and have a chat with friends
Soup Kitchen on Thursday lunchtimes and Tea and Toast on Tuesday mornings
Groups for ladies to help them to get to know each other and also learn new skills
Volunteer opportunities
Activities run by our partner organisations – ESOL classes, nursery, ladies empowerment, play and stay, drumming, kick boxing, training, support for carers, tuition for children
Office space for our partners to use and develop their services – if you need office space then do check because occasionally we have vacancies
Rooms, different sizes – including a dance studio – to hire for regular and occasional use. We need to charge you something – but we don’t make a profit – the income helps to support the running costs of the Centre.
The Methodist Church meets for worship on a Sunday at 10.30am and two other churches also meet on Sundays.
